Personality:

Dongyul is a highly disciplined man who values hard work and the desires of others above his own. His sense of discipline leads him to have a very practical and prudent mindset, but his aim for his goals tend to be high. Despite his ambitious nature, Dongyul clearly understands it takes time to make things materialize. In other words, he has all the patience in the world to get to where he wants to. Along with his patience, Dongyul is a cautious individual who prefers to avoid any mindless risk which leads him to be dodgy and an escapist at times. The man does value his privacy, but he isn't the solitary type. Contrary to his outward appearance, Dongyul can be quite shy and has the tendency to be moody. His awkward social skills take its root from his extremely sheltered childhood, and he will take his sweet time opening up to others. And while Dongyul has a soft and gentle nature, the man can actually be stubborn and quite pessimistic.

Yet despite being a man in general, Dongyul is extremely effeminate in all aspects ranging from his mannerisms to his appearance. He's used to people thinking of him as a woman, so if that's the case he won't even bother to correct them. However, if one does happen to notice him as a man right off the beat, he'll take take a significant liking to the person. Needless to say he's a bit embarrassed by his lack of masculinity, but he is thankful for the traits he currently possess.

With six years of military experience under his belt, Dong-Yul has learned to be a ruthless fighter. His behavior on the field contradicts his usual behavior.

Dongyul doesn't have much pride in any of skills and only wishes to get tasks perfectly done without any flaws. His pessimistic nature leads him to constantly believe he is an under achiever and that he is on lower level than his peers.

Though Dongyul comes from a family of high wealth, he would much rather avoid any conversations regarding his own family, wealth, and political corruption. In fact, he prefers no one to know to avoid downplay and mockery. However, his natural behavior all points to the child of a well-off family who had time for etiquette training.

Back Story:

Up until the day he enlisted into the military, Dongyul spent the entirety of his life donning skirts and women’s clothing.

Born and raised within the Stohess district of Wall Sina, Dongyul spent the majority of his childhood living an extremely sheltered life raised as the only “daughter” of the only well-known clan of Orientals—the Park family. Despite the scarce number of their blood lineage, the Park family is the leader of the black market and the owners of underground whore houses spread throughout the districts of the walls. All the while the public is convinced their main business is the distribution of rare produce and fine dining restaurants. Despite the dirty methods of maintaining their wealth, the family uses the majority of their earnings to buy other Orientals from human traffickers and take them in as their own. However, they are to earn their keep and are kept as household servants.

Even with the presence of servants within the house hold, all three children of the family head were never spoiled and were expected to do their chores right alongside the servants. Along with their chores, the children were kept busy with their rigorous studies and personal lessons with a mass array of tutors. However, Dongyul’s agenda differed from his brothers’. Dance lessons stood in the place of martial combat lessons, business trips meant visiting another high-class woman’s manor for tea, and he would be fitted for a dress while his brothers’ were being fitted for a new suit.

The dance lessons, tea, and dresses were nothing unusual to Dongyul despite being a boy.

((EDITED. goSH I I REVISE THIS SECTION SO MANY TIMES))

With already several secrets laying behind their family name, there is one kept only between nuclear family members and few servants; the lady of the household is mentally ill. She appears normal for a majority of times, but is insistent on raising her youngest son as a daughter. With a traumatic past behind her and loss of her baby sister, Dongyul's mother forces the spirit of her sister to live within him.

And thus Dongyul’s upraising was no different than that of a high-class girl.

Fortunately for the family, Dongyul grew up with effeminate traits that could easily pass him as a female even into his adult years. His father’s associates and those who witnessed him dance soon began to refer to the boy as the “Lotus Blossom of Wall Sina”—due to his exotic beauty among the threshold of many high-class women powdering on layers of make-up. Despite reaching the age he began to understand that society would frown upon him if they were to uncover the truth, Dongyul continued to play the role of a daughter.

Despite the attention and love he received as the “daughter” of the Park family head, Dongyul wished to be part of something greater than him—like the few Military Police soldiers he witnessed at a visit to the Yalkell district who genuinely did their job. Unbeknownst to him, the majority of legion was corrupted and frowned upon on by the citizens.

However, it was nearing the time for rich young girls to be married off. His father desperately sought a way to reject the bachelors. It was Dong-Yul who thought of joining the Military. He confronted his father about the "runaway plan," and thus they set it in motion despite his mother's protest.

On the first day of training, Dongyul donned his first pair of pants.

Reason:

Dong-Yul joined the military three years prior to the breach of Wall Maria in attempt to avoid bringing shame and disdain to his family name. While he did enlist to protect the family’s reputation as his main priority, Dongyul hopes to use his enlistment to makeup for his short-comings as a man and enforces the law against his own family to protect humanity from themselves—and the titans.

Likes: Dresses, Handsome men, classical literature, hot and simple food, duties and responsibilities, tea, fine wine and cheeses, poetry

Dislikes: Being touched, gossip, surprises, disorder, being made to feel useless and embarrassed in public

Extras:

-Despite being a high-class child, Dongyul is actually in shape and has many fit qualities with a high pain tolerance due to spending more than half of the day in the dance studio mainly practicing ballet at the beginning of age three.

-Dongyul wears a shirt designed after the traditional Korean hanbok for women underneath his jacket with a norigae given to him by his mother for luck and protection attached to it. (UPDATE: The norigae has been given to fellow soldier and ex boyfriend Volkan Gizem Evern *see Stationary Guards* )

-Though he was raised as the opposite sex, Dongyul has absolutely no gender identity issues and embraces the fact he is interested in men.

- Dongyul lacks the aggressive nature of a fighter so he always relies on his quick speed and fast thinking to win his battles.

-He has yet to witness and fight a live titan, but his cautious nature prevents him from underestimating the atrocious monsters.

- The name Dongyul means Eastern passion in the nearly dead Korean language.

TASK II

Dongyul stood amid the new recruits with his back proudly erected despite the heavy heat and sweat that stung his eyes as they rolled down his face in small beads. Never had he been allowed to stay outside this long and feel sweat rolling off of him due to the heavy beating of the offending sun. He and the other recruits all shared the same deep flush dusting their faces, but only Dongyul dared to call this heat pleasurable. However, the high heat would be the least of their worries.

“You there!” the drill sergeant called out to one of the new recruits, “What is your name?!?”

The new recruit trembled as he made the salute. He yelled out his name and place of origin, only to be followed by a slew of insults from the sergeant stating that the poor boy was worth less than a pig’s feces. The sergeant then began to move to other new recruits, singling them out from the crowd and piercing them through the back of their head with his intense gaze. Unfortunately for Dongyul, that intense gaze soon met his own. He may have mastered a stoic facade, but the drill sergeant saw right through his act.

“And you!” the sergeant bellowed to the effeminate man. “Who the hell are you?!?”

Dongyul looked straight ahead and saluted to the sergeant with a steady fist—a little to calmly and a little too slowly. “Dongyul Park, from Stohess,” he replied with an awfully calm and domesticated voice that came out too soft for the sergeant’s liking. In that moment he could feel all eyes on him as he seemed to have made the sergeant angrier than he already was.

The sergeant walked closer to the man until their faces were merely inches apart as his gaze tore through Dongyul’s skull. Despite their close proximity, the sergeant continued to yell. “Speak up you maggot! You will be nothing but titan food, are we clear?!?”

In that moment Dongyul realized there would be no class room behavior or book to follow verbatim in this training camp. There would be no room etiquette and the years ahead require him to scrap all previous behavioral habits if he wanted to end each day alive. For the first time in his life, Dongyul shouted back at an instructor, “Yes sir!”

This is my first time signing up for a role-play group, so I'm really sorry if my submission is worth less than titan fodder.
